Xperience the Journey.
The third-generation BMW X3 puts clear water between itself and its direct rivals with cutting-edge, semi-automated driving features, while also setting standards in its category.
The latest generation of Active Cruise Control (ACC) can actually brake and bring the car to a halt in stop-and-go traffic and automatically pull away again.
The optional Head-Up Display is another innovative technological feature. It allows important driving-related information to be projected directly into the driver’s field of vision. The Head-Up Display in the all-new BMW X3 is unrivalled in its segment for graphics, resolution and display options. Also unique to the vehicle is the Remote 3D View function, which can be used to beam a three-dimensional view of the car’s immediate vicinity directly to a smartphone.
In addition to the iDrive Controller fitted as standard, specifying the Navigation System Professional opens up the possibility of touchscreen and gesture control – functions which have so far been exclusive to the BMW 7 Series and all-new BMW 5 Series. The optional touch-sensitive central display provides a summary of the most pertinent information. The system excels with its quick start function, lightning-fast route calculation, individual tips on reducing consumption and the 3D map navigation for easy guidance in the city.
BMW Connected+, which was launched worldwide last year, provides a digital bridge between smartphones and vehicles. It delivers the next level of in-car personalisation and smartphone content integration on the Control Display. This makes display and operation in the vehicle simpler than ever. With the help of the Open Mobility Cloud platform, digital services connect to the all-new BMW X3 via devices like smartphones or smartwatches, resulting in seamless connectivity to the power of X. For example, Apple CarPlay® preparation is specially tailored to the operating system and user interface of your iPhone. This means that smartphone content, along with functions like music, iMessages/text messages, telephony and selected third-party apps, are displayed and operated in the regular manner, even via the vehicle’s user interface. Apple CarPlay® preparation can be used via touch input, the iDrive Controller or voice control, depending on the vehicle’s equipment.
Devices that can connect to the all-new BMW X3 now include smartphones running iOS and Android operating systems via smart wearables like the Apple Watch and Samsung Gear (S2 and S3).
